About Us
Pal at 14 years of age
PWe are a small kennel located in Paradise, Newfoundland.
Our story began with the arrival on our doorstep in North Carolina, one morning in August 2001, of a beautiful sweet-natured male Pekingese, whom our young daughter, Lindsay, named 'Pal'. Well-named, that is what he truly has been to our family. Thus began our passion for this wonderful breed.
The search for his identity, however, was not to be satisfied until April 2007 when, on impulse, we made another attempt to trace his history - this time through an online U.S. organization which locates missing dogs. In a very short time, I was contacted by Anthea Everitt of Kushan Pekingese. Through her, we learned that our 'Pal' may have been a descendant of a Kushan dog that survived the hurricane that swept the North Carolina coast over a year before. Pal had again 'touched' our lives by bringing us this very special and kind lady, Ms. Everitt, who has become my mentor and friend - one who has brought us through many anxious moments.
Starting a kennel that would breed lovely Pekingese was, perhaps, a dream that we would not have pursued without encouragement and help from others. Along the way, we have made some lasting friendships. Our start began when long-time breeder Lois McIntosh, of PagodaPalace Pekingese, entrusted us first with one, and then another, beautiful female, who became our first champions. From Ellen McWilliams, Littlelion Pekingese, came our lovely Littlelion Momma Cass. From the other side of the border, several other breeders have contributed greatly to AnnWyn Kennel - Patty Metzger, Muhlin Pekingese, who blessed us with Muhlin Molotov (Boomer) and Duane and Sue Royer, Royal's Pekingese, who entrusted us with Royal's Gold Rush and littermate, Royal's Dusty Rose.
We have been touched many times by the kindness of a number of other Pekingese breeders, who were always willing to take the time to share their knowledge - people like Gary Tucker and David Kelland of Michaelmas, Reg and Flora Crane of Polina, and Patti Metzgar of Muhlin.
Our story all began with the love of a wonderful dog and a dream to produce exquisite Pekingese. When we watch the lovely offspring from these beautiful Pekingese in our kennel, we believe that what was only a dream is now a reality.
Please feel free to contact us.
